The Eyebrow Solution You’ll Love During Summer

Why SPMU is the Best Beauty Investment

Summer is one of the most challenging times for makeup — heat, humidity, and sweat make it nearly impossible to keep your eyebrow makeup smudge-free all day. And if you’re someone who already finds eyebrow makeup tricky — maybe because of thinning brow hairs, sparse areas, or changes in skin texture — it can be even more frustrating. That’s why so many of my mature clients find semi-permanent (SPMU) brows such a practical solution.

So, why doesn’t eyebrow makeup work long-term?

Most eyebrow products like pencils and powders sit on the skin surface, which means they don’t hold up well. The heat, oil, sweat, and water all break them down quickly — especially during the summer months. Your skin naturally produces more oil in the warmer weather, and when you add in SPF, a splash in the pool and by midday — where has your eyebrow makeup gone? Let’s be real — the last thing you want is to look in the mirror and realise half your eyebrow has vanished. My clients with oilier skin know exactly what I’m talking about!

Here’s Why Semi-Permanent Brows Are the Ideal Summer Upgrade

1. They’re Sweat & Water Resistant

If you love swimming or you're planning a sunny getaway, SPMU brows are a low-maintenance solution — especially in summer. They don’t smudge, melt, or wash off, which makes life so much easier. How? The pigment is implanted into the upper layers of your skin — think of it like a soft, natural-looking tattoo for your eyebrows. That means you can dip in and out of the sea or enjoy a walk in the sunshine without worrying if your eyebrows are still in place.

2. You’re Always Holiday-Ready

Imagine getting your eyebrows tinted before your holiday, only for it to last for a few days… then what? Back to filling in your eyebrows again? Such a hassle. With SPMU, your eyebrows are already done, shaped and filled — and that kind of ease makes all the difference when you're enjoying your summer.

3. Time-Saving and Fuss-Free

Even outside of holiday mode, semi-permanent brows saves you time every morning. No more stressing over symmetry or rushing to get both brows even. They’re low-maintenance, always tidy, and its one less thing to think about in your daily routine, right?

Healing in the Summer: What You Need to Know

You can absolutely get your eyebrows done in the summer — you just need to be mindful of the healing process to get the best results.

DO:

  • Wear a hat or large sunglasses to shade your brows from direct sun for the first 7–10 days

  • Stay cool and avoid saunas, intense workouts, and sunbeds while healing

  • Once healed, use a mineral SPF on your brows to protect the pigment from fading

DON’T:

  • Swim in pools or the sea until your brows are fully healed (usually 10–14 days)

  • Apply makeup directly on the healing area

  • Pick or scratch as your eyebrows flake — this can lead to patchiness or uneven colour retention

Thinking of getting your brows done before your trip? Booking 6–8 weeks in advance gives you plenty of time to heal and enjoy your holiday worry-free.
